Back in the game. The running game.
This photo is un-doctored, un-edited proof that I did get outside and move my ass tonight. NGL, I wish I didn’t look so much like an overworked oompa loompa, but I’m still rather proud. It wasn’t all giggles and ice-cream (not that I thought it was going to be) so the fact that I kept going after that first jogging stint is enough to smile about.
Given that I’ve been on the couch and not on the pavement for the last six months, it’s not surprising that I lost pretty much any progress I’d made. But I was still surpised at how tight my muscles (calves and hamstrings) got after just a quarter mile. So there was lots of walking sprinkled liberally, not to say that I got lazy. Even the usual complaints from the body didn’t stop me.
So the plan is to do this again tomorrow. Maybe with the boy toy. Maybe not. It was really nice to be about in the sunny evening alone.
